Connecticut’s ClearCorrect Specialists
If you want to enjoy the teeth-straightening benefits of traditional braces without all the food restrictions and lifestyle limitations, ClearCorrect plastic aligners are another reliable way to put you on the path to your brand new smile. As a certified ClearCorrect provider, Dr. Kostrzewski and Dr. Spennato at The Center for Complete Health Dentistry @ Wilton routinely use ClearCorrect to help patients receive the gift of a straight, beautiful, healthy-looking smile they can’t wait to show off in pictures.
What is ClearCorrect?
ClearCorrect is a type of clear aligner treatment that uses custom-made transparent trays that fit comfortably over your teeth, gently pulling them into the proper alignment. As a fully removable alternative to traditional fixed metal wires and brackets, ClearCorrect plastic aligners are essentially invisible to others, allowing the wearer to straighten their smile discreetly.
The ClearCorrect system is currently available for adults and teenagers with mild-to-moderate teeth misalignments or improper bites. Some children who don’t yet have all their molars and elderly patients who present with more complicated dental issues might also be candidates for ClearCorrect.
Is ClearCorrect Better Than Braces?
ClearCorrect isn’t right for everyone, nor can it fix every problem. Much like traditional braces, ClearCorrect removable aligners can be used to treat orthodontic conditions like crooked teeth, crowded teeth, overbites, underbites, rotated teeth, and improperly spaced teeth. The best way to find out if you are a candidate for ClearCorrect is to schedule an orthodontic screening with Dr. Kostrzewski or Dr. Spennato.
Unlike fixed braces, ClearCorrect offers these patient advantages:
- Nearly invisible to others
- No dietary restrictions
- No obstructions to brushing and flossing
- Controlled single-tooth movement
- Convenient
- Remote-monitoring options that eliminate guesswork
Alternatives to ClearCorrect
If the level of malocclusion or misalignment correction needed requires you to be fitted with traditional braces, you will be referred to a reputable orthodontist in the area.
If you are a candidate for removable braces, in addition to ClearCorrect, we also offer patients these treatment alternatives:
What is the Process for Getting ClearCorrect?
If you are a candidate for ClearCorrect, here’s what you can expect during your course-of- treatment:
- Your dental records– including any impressions, photographs, and radiographs– will be sent along with your prescription to the ClearCorrect lab, where an exact, 3-D model of your teeth and mouth is made.
- Once your custom-made aligners are ready, we will call to schedule a pick-up appointment with you. During your visit, Dr. Kostrzewski or Dr. Spennato will answer any questions you might have and make sure your trays fit properly. At that time, a member of our staff will also explain how to care for your ClearCorrect aligners.
- A ClearCorrect treatment includes four phases of aligner therapy. Each phase requires a new set of aligners that are worn over a three-week period. The time between each phase allows for control and flexibility. Your ClearCorrect aligners should be worn at all times, except while eating, brushing, or flossing.
How Long Do I Need to Wear ClearCorrect Aligners?
After wearing each aligner set, results will be noticeable as your teeth begin gradually adjusting and aligning to their proper place. Periodic check-ups with our dentists are required to evaluate progress and receive your next set of ClearCorrect aligners. This sequence will continue until you have achieved your smile transformation goals. Overall treatment time can vary from one to two years, depending upon your specific condition, degree of misalignment, and level of compliance.
