COVID19 has changed the world for now and maybe for a long time to come.

At WiltonDentist.com (formerly Dr William Schmid’s practice), we have some exciting changes as well.

WE STARTED IN WILTON and WE ARE STAYING IN WILTON.

We are temporarily practicing at 148 East Avenue in Norwalk, while we construct our NEW location.  Our newly constructed practice will be at 27 Danbury road in WILTON, just down the road from Dr Schmid’s former location, directly across the street from the Little Pub. On the third floor above KAOUD’s.  Don’t worry there is plenty of parking and an Elevator to take you up to our brand-new dental office.

Unfortunately, Dr. MacFarlane has decided for medical reasons to move back to New Jersey.

Walter Kostrzewski, DMD, FIADFE, FACE

Better known as “Dr. K”, he graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1992.
In 1993 he completed a General Practice Residency at University Hospital at Stony Brook, NY, with an emphasis on treating the medically compromised patient, dental trauma, sedation, treating the fearful dental patient and emergency room trauma.

In 2001 Dr K completed the Cosmetic, Smile Design and Full Mouth Reconstruction Continuum at the University of the Pacific, in San Francisco, CA.

Prior to all this “Dr CoachKAY” earned a BS degree in Biology and graduated in 3 years from Villanova University, while playing Ice Hockey in the ECAC/s.

He has coached both boys and girls travel youth hockey at the elite tier one Mid Fairfield Youth Hockey Program in Stamford Connecticut from 2004-2010.

Since moving to Connecticut in 1994, Dr K has completed many hundred hours of CE, in root canals, sedation, implants, veneers, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, and Six Month Smiles. Dr. K was a “Sustaining” member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry from 2002-2007. And in 2003 was listed in “New York Magazine” as one of the New York area’s best cosmetic dentists. He is also a member of the ADA, Connecticut State Dental Association, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, a Fellow of the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, and a Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics.

The New York Magazine in 2003 listed Dr. K as one of New York’s Best Cosmetic Dentists.
Dr. K has taught and mentored many other dentists on Smile Design, cosmetics, veneers and full mouth reconstruction at Universities and Dental School around the country.

In 2015 Dr K received “The Life Time Achievement Award” from The Smiles for Life Foundation.  Smiles For Life is an organization set up through members of the Crown Council, a prestigious alliance of leading-edge dentists around the world who are strongly committed to excellence in their fields, to continuing education, to serving their communities through charitable work, and to focusing on treating patients, not teeth. Every year, from March through June, Dr K and team professionally whitening teeth to raise money for seriously ill, disabled, and underprivileged children in their local communities and around the world. The lifetime achievement award is given to those doctors who have raised over $100,000 for the cause, Dr K achieved this award by raising over $230,000 to date.

In 2017 The Lee and Aidan McMahon Foundation gave Dr K “The Supporter of the Year Award” for his dedication and contributions.  The McMahon brothers honor Mom (Lee) and Aidan by gathering friends and family for a golf outing to support Hospice and the American Liver Foundation.

In 2020 Dr. K co-founded The Aligner Alliance and Innovate Smiles Mastery program.  A postgraduate program to teach other dentists how to do Clear Aligners cases using digital scanners and 3D printers, such as Invisalign and Six Month Smiles.

After practicing in Milford, CT and NYC for 22 years, Dr K sold his practice, so he could treat patients in his local community. A resident of Darien, CT of 25 years and now a resident of Ridgefield. Kristen, his wife is  born and raised in Wilton, CT, a graduate of Wilton, HS and her parents and family have lived in the area for over 40 years.
